What you need to know about shipping

When using BTR to set up an import Taiwan shipment

• The sender must provide the mobile phone number and email address of the recipient in Taiwan, and BTR will notify the recipient in Taiwan to identify the shipment

• The sender must prepare the packing list and commercial invoice

• Recipients need to download and register Taiwan real-name authentication (EZWay) in advance in response to the requirements of Taiwan Customs before pre-clearance authentication for shipments entering Taiwan (B2C and C2C shipments).

• From January 1, 2018, the import duty-free amount has been reduced from NT$3,000 to NT$2,000.

• If the number of imports from January to June (half a year) or July to December (half a year) exceeds six times, it is considered frequent and there is no tax exemption

• Shipments in the sample category are exempted from the frequent calculation and maintain a duty-free allowance of 3,000 yuan.

Your commercial invoice plays a vital role in the customs clearance process, why is it important?

The customs regards the details of the commercial invoice as an important part of the customs clearance process. When you use BTR express to send the goods, you need to include the detailed information of the commercial invoice (commercial/form). If the content is incorrect, the goods will be detained by the customs, which may would result in significant delivery delays.


What is the commercial invoice for customs?

1. Assessment of duties and taxes payable

2. Shipments are screened for safety and security

3. Stop or seize shipments for further inspection if necessary

4. Check whether the contents of the shipment match the invoice data

5. Enforcement of Applicable Customs Regulations


What should be included in the commercial invoice?

Each item in the package must be detailed separately on the invoice with a separate narrative:

1. What is the product?

An overly vague or general description will be considered unacceptable by the customs. For example: parts, gifts, textiles or samples.

A more precise description needs to be provided. Example: Cotton women's T-shirts.

2. What is the product made of?

3. What is the purpose of the goods?

4. Corresponding Harmonized System (HS) code
